Curcumin causes cancer tumors to be unable to grow by destroying the blood vessels that feed those tumors, making the tumors die inside your body. I’m still reading Dr David Servan-Schreiber’s book “Anti Cancer – a new way of life”.  Because of his medical/research background this book not only presents scientifically valid statistics and reasoning behind his words, he also provides interesting, and understandable, commentary on the reasons why our generation is more commonly being afflicted with cancers.

For example, the immense increase in the production of synthetic chemicals from 1 million tons in 1930 to 200 million tons today.

The purpose of Dr Servan-Schreiber’s book is not to scare you, but to reassure you that it’s possible to do things to protect yourself.  He provides tables which summarize, e.g. which foods to limit/reduce and which foods to eat instead.

Anti Cancer – A New Way Of Life – Part 2 – Inflammation The Enemy Within

In his book “Anti Cancer – A New Way Of Life” Dr David Servan-Schreiber discusses how inflammation is our enemy.

Inflammation in our bodies is a reaction to some sort of damage to our cells, through some sort of shock or physical trauma like, burns, cuts, infections by viruses or bacteria, even rubbing and chafing.

Inflammation is described as:-

it’s red, it’s swollen, it’s warm and it’s painful.

Our immune systems react to inflammation to heal our bodies in ways far too technical for me to understand fully or describe.  The problem is that apparently there is also another face to our immune response to inflammation – it can work against us by over-reacting and being diverted to promote cancerous growths.

There are distinct links between certain types of cancers and inflammation. For example:-

Cervical cancer – papilloma virus

Liver cancer – Hepatitis virus

Dr Servan-Schreiber’s book obviously gives much more information.

In short, inflammation has a key role in promoting cancer and we should do all we can to avoid it.

Anti Cancer – A New Way Of Life – Part 1

Tonight I visited a friend who has cancer in hospital.  It started in his lung (he’s a non-smoker) and has now affected some bones.  He had a hip replacement operation a week ago, and is doing very well.

A couple of days ago I was reading a magazine which included an article by Dr David Servan-Schreiber.  The doctor’s article revealed how an accidental (a study he was conducting was short a test subject) MRI scan showed his brain tumor.

Tonight my sick friend showed me a book given to him by a caring friend, it’s called “Anti cancer – a new way of life”.  It is the same book referred to in the magazine article. Obviously fate has deemed me to read this book.  My friend in hospital can’t concentrate on reading at the moment, so he has kindly lent me the book.

So, I’ve already started reading.  The author is a doctor, scientist and researcher, so he knows what he’s talking about.

As I progress I’ll post updates.  I’ve already been impressed by the natural writing manner, despite referring to some technical matters. It’s certainly not a scientific reference book, it’s meant for everybody.
