Insulin is your body’s “fat-storing” hormone. A new study from scientists at the Suntory Research Center in Osaka, Japan, shows that drinking a tea like Wu Yi (oolong) tea 15 minutes before eating carbohydrates helps “lower” the rise in insulin compared to the normal rise after eating carbs. It reported as being “more effective in lowering plasma glucose than were the drugs alone.”
While this doesn’t mean you can go crazy and eat heaps of carbs, it does explain one of the reasons why Wu Yi Tea works!
