Your body is alkaline by design. We require an alkaline pH balance to function properly. Your body has reserves of alkaline minerals (e.g. calcium) to help maintain the correct pH balance.
When we consume acid forming foods (Click here to download your free chart) our body needs to compensate by borrowing from our alkaline reserves. This can mean your reserve of calcium can be depleted. That’s right, your body will actually take calcium from your bones! If this cycle keeps happening it can lead to osteporosis (a weakened bone structure).
New Aging Theory
Overly acidic body condition will eventually lead to your body breaking down, beyond repair. This is the basis of a new theory on the aging process, that associates aging and degenerative diseases with accumulation of acid waste products in the body.
When acid wastes enter the blood circulation, the blood, in attempting to maintain the correct pH, will store acid wastes in various parts of the body. Over time these wastes will overburden your system. In an attempt to remedy the situation, your body will retain water to dilute the acid waste, causing increased bodyweight.
We need help to maintain the correct pH. Why because we are eating acid forming foods daily. Also, emotional and physical stress, such as anger, anxiety, insufficient sleep and stress itself can contribute to an overly acidic body.
Did you know that studies show that antioxidants can prevent aging on a cellular level? This is where the aging process begins. They prevent one of the tell-tale signs of cellular aging – the accumulation of an “age” pigment called lipofuscin and AGE (advanced glycation end-products).
Accumulation of lipofuscin and AGE is the main cause of the signs of premature aging, such as wrinkles or brown spots on the skin, and can cause even more destruction inside your body.

Free radicals are highly unstable molecules which are constantly being formed in our bodies as a result of oxidization (simply breathing oxygen causes this), toxins (like pollution, pesticides or house-cleaning chemicals), stress, include exposure to sunlight, cigarette smoke, a diet high in fat or sugar, processed food, medication, exercise, etc.
In short they are impossible to avoid.

And there are close to 100 trillion cells in the body. Imagine the number of HITS your body suffers daily.
