Solution: THINK before you eat. Look for better quality offerings. It’s actually becoming easier to find fast food which is healthier. If you can only find pizza, then add a salad and cut down on the number of pizza slices you consume. Beware of salad dressings, use olive oil and vinegar to get the benefits of both.

Not drinking enough water. It’s a fact that a majority of people are trying to get through their busy lives in a dehydrated state.

Solution: Drink 9 to 12 glasses of water each day. Seem too much or too difficult? Humans are born with a body that is slightly alkaline, but on average, our bodies tend to become acidic after the age of 25. For instance, certain prostaglandins control the secretion of a protective stomach coating, preventing your digestive acids from acting on the walls of your stomach.

EFAs and prostaglandins are crucial to proper functioning of the immune system. Anything hampering this regulatory system results in a weakened immune system, setting the stage for immune related disorders.


Do You Consider Yourself To Be Healthy – Part 2

We would all love to be able to enjoy the benefits of having optimal health. It’s not really in question is it – it’s a fact.

Surely we all aim to:-

  • Have an abundance of energy all the time
  • be able to look younger than our years
  • be able to perform mentally, as when we were younger
  • be able to react as quickly as when we were young
  • have resilience to infections, even when most others get “the bug”
  • be able to enjoy quality sleep, and wake up feeling refreshed – oh what joy!



There is no “magic bullet” to achieving optimal health. There are things we need to do and not to do (at least to stop doing).

We need to stop smoking, stop drinking alcohol (well, maybe the odd glass of red wine is OK), stop any excessive lifestyle choices like eating fast foods and processed foods which contain lots of fats, sugars and preservatives, drinking sodas, taking drugs.

What we need to do is a longer list which I’ll continue in Part 3.
