“A cup of green tea a day could help keep your heart healthy, a study shows. The drink was found to widen the artery, which runs from the shoulder to the elbow by 4 per cent within 30 minutes – reducing the risk of blood clots. This is a good indicator of improved blood flow around the body, says a report in the European Journal of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation.
Dr Nikolaos Alexopoulos and colleagues at the 1st Cardiology Department, Athens Medical School, used ultrasound scanning to measure the performance of the brachial artery – which runs from the shoulder to the elbow, and is a good indicator of blood flow around the body. A team of healthy volunteers were given green tea, caffeine or hot water to drink on three separate occasions. Measurements of the brachial artery were taken at three stages after they drank their beverage.
The researchers found the artery expanded by four per cent 30 minutes after volunteers drank green tea. Caffeine or hot water had no effect. Dilation of the artery shows better functioning of the endothelium, the layer of cells lining blood arteries that stops clots forming. Previous research suggests black tea improves short and long-term endothelial performance, but this is the first time green tea has been shown to have a short-term beneficial effect on the large arteries.
Green tea is traditionally consumed in China and Japan and differs from black tea in that it is not fermented before drying. This fermentation process appears to reduce the content of flavonoids – beneficial antioxidants – by up to 90 per cent, which is why green tea is believed to offer different health benefits to black tea.
Recent studies have also shown potent anticarcinogenic effects of green tea, attributed to its antioxidant properties. Other research shows drinking green tea lowers ‘bad’ cholesterol and blood pressure, and reduces harmful liver enzymes. Evidence is now suggesting that drinking around 3 to 4 cups of tea a day may help reduce the risk of developing heart disease.”

That wu yi tea is a highly recommended as a weight loss tea. It’s easy make and drink. Contains no calories. With the wu yi system you only need 2 cups a day. So what kind of ingredients does wu yi tea have?
As with all tea, wu yi tea definitely contains caffeine. It is actually only about half of the caffeine content of a cup of coffee, but it is definitely present which is responsible for the more immediate energy boosts.
These are the crucial ingredients in wu yi tea, giving us the beneficial results. Without the antioxidants, the tea would really have no effect on you at all. Polyphenols are responsible for burning the fat and they are filed under the antioxidant category. Catechins are also antioxidants and are necessary to improve your heart and other organs.
Every other ingredient is basically made up of vitamins, including magnesium, calcium, iron, and fluoride. Many of these vitamins are very hard to acquire in normal foods, so a couple cups of wu yi tea can really do amazing things in keeping your diet balanced.
Wu Yi Tea, while being a form of Oolong tea, appears to have enhanced weight loss properties.
Wu Yi Tea has been huge in the news and is a very popular form of weight loss tea, but where and how did it actually start? We know that it is derived from China, but the owner of Wu Yi Tea is from the United States and the product is shipped there.
The owner Michael Taiji first got the idea for Wu Yi Tea when he visited Chinatown in New York City over 15 years ago. He visited a tea shop and saw the hundreds of different forms of tea that the Chinese provided. He wondered if there was a way to take these teas that claim to help lose weight, and actually find a tea that is solely responsible for burning fat.
Michael went to China and learned more about all the different types of tea and what chemicals were responsible for doing what. He found out that green tea was the best of all these types of tea and was loaded with the fat loss chemical polyphenols that we are always talking about. Michael found a way to add polyphenols to green tea by mixing green tea with the wu yi tea leaf. Voila, Wu Yi tea was formed and is now the most popular weight loss tea in the world.
Wu Yi Tea has other benefits too. What if you could find a supplement on the market that not only helped you lose weight, but could also do great things for your health and wellness. Green tea has long been used as natural medicine for those that are sick. The antioxidants and minerals are said to be able to really improve the body’s health and keep you feeling great for a long time. Now, Wu Yi tea, a form of green tea, really a type of oolong tea, has hit the market.
You can find so many forms of green tea on the market today, it is tough to figure out which kinds are the best. Simply type green tea into a search engine and you can find ten different kinds in a matter of seconds. You already know that Wu Yi Tea is the most popular green tea in the world, but what other popular kinds are:
Dragon Well. It is very low in caffeine, and has a smooth walnut type taste. This is a very popular version in China, and contains many of the same qualities as Wu Yi, but not quite as strong fat loss content.
Mao Jian is another huge green tea that is hard to find outside China. It has a sweet, but almost soapy taste that causes many people to favour other kinds of green tea instead.
The third and final most popular green tea is called Bi Luo Chun and is from the South of China. This is probably the best tasting of all the green tea, but has nowhere near the dietary effects that any of the other green teas have.
In conclusion, you won’t find any better tea for it’s antioxidant properties than Wu Yi Tea. It now has many competitors also from China, but none seem to be able to match the complete effects Wu Yi has on your body.
While you may certainly try other Oolong teas I cannot guarantee they will have the same effects as genuine Wu Yi Tea.
